As I was examining my Graphic Design Portfolio website, I had determined that I needed something on my home page that showcased my Motion Graphics skills. I had done a bit of searching and found a couple artists on Behanced that had nice Typography Animated Gifs that I was inspired by.
Below are images that I aspire to replicate to add that extra motion I needed on my website:
To begin learning this Typography Animation technique I found a tutorial on YouTube by a Motion Graphics artist that goes by the name of Dope Motions. This was a perfect project to experiment with After Effects and 3D text elements.
Finally here was interpretation of an Animated Gif with Typography. I will continue to experiment with this form of Motion Graphics, what I would like to try is create a highly polished Adobe Illustrator text element and then bring it into Adobe After Effects to add the extra motions desired for an even deeper distortion effect.
As creative professionals, everything we do has to be creative in someway! At least that is how I feel, so why not dress up your resume? After all as designers, isn’t our job to organize data in a more visually pleasing manor? With that being said I found an article on inspirationfeed.com that inspired me to Re-design my resume to make it look like a designer created it. What do you guys think about this topic? Should designers keep a standard resume or a more graphic oriented resume?
Andddddd as promised here is my take on this topic. Please let me know what you think! Would you hire me if you saw this?

I have recently shown a great interest in Typography and have seen many different things done, but nothing like this! Lex Wilson an illustrator and graphic designer from Cambridge, UK shows off his illustration skills and his knowledge of type in these highly creative uses of typography. I am definitely going to try some of these myself!

I don’t know if any of you guys are apart of Adobe User Groups in your town, but at our group here on Long Island we have a monthly challenge after every group meeting. Here is my submission to the challenge, I am very happy with how it came out. Let me know if you like it!!! Also if you’d like save the original and show me what you can come up with!
Don’t know how it happened, but I found this guy Ian Jepson’s Portfolio. His work for me is very inspirational, I love the way some of his work looks almost hand drawn with amazing detail within each and every element in each piece.
My favorite pieces are the Beefcake and the Clingon illustrations.
