A lot has changed since 2014… that was the year I decided to redo my Graphic Design Resume in a style that fit my career of choice. I wrote about creating a project like this and showed my influences – Check out the blog post here “Creative Graphic Design Resumes…”
Here in 2020 I decided that I need to update my resume for various reasons, one being I became older and my photo was a younger version of myself. Along with that photo update, I wanted to re-design the layout to be able to fit more jobs and experiences on that standard 8.5″ x 11″ piece of printer paper found in most offices that are hiring people, not robots… I’ve never worked at one of those and don’t know what paper dimensions they use.
It was time the 2014 layout needed a change for 2020, below is the before and after.
Before (2014):

After (2020):

Munoz Stockin’ Events (MSE) is a branch of Munoz Stock, a company founded by my brother’s band, The Muckrakers and me, Evan Munoz. Munoz Stockin’ Events (MSE) produces local Long Island Music / Art / Video Game parties and gatherings. We put together these events to keep current with the Long Island community year round leading up to our larger event Munoz-Stock, a Music + Art + Video Game Festival currently being held at Station Sports in Huntington Long Island.
In light of the global situation in 2020 MSE like many, turned to a more virtual approach to hold events. The first online concert series we came up with is called Show On The Go! Our first episode aired live May, 23rd 2020 on Munoz-Stock’s Facebook page, we had 6 live performers from bands on the East Coast. Show On The Go! also featured a live Digital Artist that painted during the event in Adobe Photoshop using a drawing tablet. The Munoz-Stock team also created 2 skits, one was a Mortal Kombat 11 battle between Shanon Munoz and Joey Bosco, the other was mock Zoom Workout skit including Joey Bosco + The Muckrakers + Evan Munoz. To help support local Long Island Bars that have supported Munoz-Stock over the years, we directed viewers to One Eye Jacks in Bethpage multiple ways during the event to promote their new takeout menu. The show was a great success with over 2.5k viewers over the 3 hour event. The MSE team will be continuing to produce Show On The Go! on a monthly basis to keep connected with the local Long Island Music and Art Scene during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond.
I’m excited to see this platform grow because it is a great way of showcasing the local talent there is out here on Long Island. This is a perfect project to combine multiple skill sets for a Marketing Graphic Designer like myself, Evan Munoz. To promote growth on this channel and create a highly polished show I had to exercise use of StreamYard, Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Adobe Rush and Digital Marketing best practices. I am looking forward to producing more Show On The Go! Episodes with The Muckrakers/Munoz-Stock Team and Actor Joey Bosco from Los Angeles.
The past couple weeks as I began to scroll through my Facebook feed, I realized that a good majority of my friends are musicians. Being that they are musically inclined and I have a NEW Canon Rebel T6i from Christmas time, I decided to take on some event photography and learn my camera. In that I am learning there was A LOT of retouching that needed to be done to make these photos look presentable, but I did manage to take some cool shots!
I think i speak for everyone when I say, we all love concept art! But when you think of concept art, you think of video game characters or fictional movie characters like aliens or monsters. For Jason Heuser he imagines the Presidents of the United States! That’s right the Presidents in crazy, insane, ridiculous scenarios!!! Some of these literally had me cracking up and laughing out loud at my desk this morning, especially the Ben Franklin VS. Zeus!!!

As creative professionals, everything we do has to be creative in someway! At least that is how I feel, so why not dress up your resume? After all as designers, isn’t our job to organize data in a more visually pleasing manor? With that being said I found an article on inspirationfeed.com that inspired me to Re-design my resume to make it look like a designer created it. What do you guys think about this topic? Should designers keep a standard resume or a more graphic oriented resume?
Andddddd as promised here is my take on this topic. Please let me know what you think! Would you hire me if you saw this?

I love to draw and sometimes I find my work a bit dark even if i don’t mean to. Well Scott Martin from Burnt Toast a Motion & Design Company has created work that is both Playful… Yet Dark at the same time! I feel like I am drawn to this style a lot. His work you almost have to do a double take to catch something you didn’t see at a quick glance. Great work! Check it out below.
I am in love with his style, if you are too see more of his work @ BurntToastCreative
Hey if you have some extra time this morning Like some of my work on Instagram @ Skuby89
I don’t know if any of you guys are apart of Adobe User Groups in your town, but at our group here on Long Island we have a monthly challenge after every group meeting. Here is my submission to the challenge, I am very happy with how it came out. Let me know if you like it!!! Also if you’d like save the original and show me what you can come up with!
